Decorative Pots

Most people use both terms interchangeably. But to define it clearly, pots and planters are different. Pots are usually smaller, made to hold only one single plant. They are usually kept indoors and are available in various shapes and sizes. Planters on the other hand are bigger and meant for outer usage. They can hold multiple plants and are mostly placed in gardens and terraces.

Decorating a potted plant is difficult as you need to make sure to not damage the plant or uproot it. There are several DIY methods you can use to make your pots more appealing. Use spray painting or a twine dipped in paint to trace beautiful designs. You can also use decorative stones, beads and other gems to enhance your decorative plant pots yourself.

The colour of the decorative pots for plants is important as it establishes the amount of heat retention possible. Dark coloured pots will retain more heat as compared to light coloured ones. Thus, it is ideal to put plants that require less water or do well in warm temperatures be put in those pots.

Decorative pots are sometimes huge in size with little drainage possibilities. In order to allow for proper ventilation and drainage, place an inverted vessel, broken piece of clay pots or any other item. This will cover the bottom area and uplift your plant so that it beautifully decorates your house.
