Rectangular Pots

Rectangular pots are great for all kinds of plants, mainly annuals, perennials, flower bulbs, vines and creepers, vegetables, and a variety of herbs. These pots provide ample space for the roots to grow and the plants to produce. However, make sure that you group the plants judiciously and select the ones that have similar requirements of watering and sunlight.

Like all planters, round, square, or rectangle, the holes should be drilled on the bottom and evenly spaced. This ensures proper drainage and protects the roots from rotting.

Line your rectangular planters with a thin sheet of plastic all along. Choose a good quality plastic that does not harm your plants. Make drainage holes in both the planter as well as the plastic in the same spot to allow the excess water to escape. The process of lining the planter will protect it from constant watering and drainage.

Large rectangular plant pots are beautiful to look at but the inside is not the same as the outside. The entire planter is not supposed to be filled with soil. It will add unnecessary weight and prevent proper drainage. You can use discarded items like plastic bottles, metal cans, styrofoam sheets, boxes, stones, and pebbles on the bottom layer of your planter. Then cover it up and add the potting soil mix. You can add your choice of plants afterward and appreciate your work.
