Sowing
Sage can be grown directly in pot, planter or container filled with good quality, well-draining soil mix.
Take off some topsoil (2-3 inches) from the centre of pot and make room for seed sowing.
Sow Sage seeds evenly in the pit and cover them with soil.
Water the pot regularly. Keep the surface damp.
Your Sage seeds should germinate in 2-3 weeks, depending on the season.
Keep your Sage pot in semi shade when the germinated seedlings are growing.
Cut off any extra, weakseedlings from the base after two weeks of germination to ensure your plants are evenly spaced.
Caring
Once seedlings are growing, keep the Sage container in a sunny location.
Water your Sage plant moderately. Use a watering can to ensure an even shower.
Add a handful of vermicompost to your Thyme plant every month.
Look for the early signs fungal infection/ insect infestation. If you notice any symptoms, spray appropriate medicines immediately.
Spray Neem Oil/Tobacco extract/soap water to keep insects at bay.
90 - 100days after sowing, your Sage seeds will be ready for harvest.
