All the plant gossip, through the grapevine. Pun intended
Fertilise your Pachira once every month with a generic plant fertiliser for better growth.
Repotting : The Pachira will not need frequent repotting. Repot it every two years in springtime (March – early April) in a rich well-draining potting mix in a larger sized pot.
Propagation : The Pachira can be propagated through cuttings. In summer, take a six-inch (15 cm.) branch cutting with several leaf nodes and remove the leaves on the lower third of the cutting, then either propagate it in water ensuring that at least one leaf node is under water or propagate it in soil with one leaf node under the soil. Ensure that the soil remains moist (but not soggy) at all times.
1. Why are the leaves of my money tree yellowing?
Yellow leaves can be either due to too little humidity or an issue with fertilizer deficiency. But more often than not, it is because of low humidity.
2. Why are the tips of my Pachira leaves browning?
Browning and crisp leaf tips are a direct result of underwatering. Ensure that the soil is evenly moist at all times (but not soggy).
3. Why are the leaves of my Pachira drooping?
Drooping leaves are a sign of overwatering. Check you plant stem, if its still healthy put you plant in partial sunlight and don’t water till the potting mix is dry. Water sparingly post that.
Light Requirements : The Pachira can live anywhere from direct light to bright indirect light, but it loves humidity and does not like to be dried out.
Locations : Native to the South Asian tropical forests, it loves bright light and humid air. Make it a part of a plant cluster in a brightly lit corner or place it in a covered patio or well-lit entryway to attract fortune into your home.
Styling/décor tip : The Pachira with its delicately braided stems is a sight for sore eyes. Let it stand tall and grab attention in the prime spot of your hall and boast about its fuss free nature to all you friends or make it a part of your tropical plant cluster to add some visual interest with its woody stem and leaves that grow almost horizontally to the stems. Its and linear growing pattern makes it a great choice for those tight but well-lit corners. Place them in monochrome ceramic pots from our collection or the chic bronze or gold metallic ones to up their glam game.
