All the plant gossip, through the grapevine. Pun intended
Fertilizer/ feed for the plant:Feed your Ficus a balanced houseplant fertiliser monthly from late spring right until fall. Do not fertilise your plant in winters.
Repotting : You will need to repot your Ficus plant every 1 to 2 years as your plant starts getting taller and bigger.
Propagation : The easiest way to propagate your FIcus is by stem cuttings. It is easier to propagate younger green stems, the older stems will need a rooting hormone for a successful propagation.
1. Why are my Ficus leaves drooping?
Wrong watering schedule or improper light can cause drooping of leaves. Try changing the watering schedule of your plant and also change the position of the plant, move it to a brighter spot.
2. Why are my Ficus leaves curling?
Both under watering and overwatering can cause curling and yellowing of leaves. Fix your watering schedule to correct this problem
3. Why are my Ficus leaves turning brown and shedding?
If your Ficus is receiving insufficient water the leaves will start turning brown and eventually fall off. Water your Ficus more often to prevent browning of leaves.
Light Requirements :Ficus thrives in bright and indirect sunlight. They grow best when placed in a spot they like and moved as little as possible. Make sure that you are rotating your plant to ensure that all sides get sufficient directional light.
Locations :The Ficus is a great indoor plant. Indoors, make sure you keep your plant next to a window, not farther than 1-2 feet away from the light source. You can also grow your Ficus outdoors on patios or balconies.
Styling/decor tip :The glossy green foliage of the Ficus can add colour and life to your indoor settings as well as your outdoor areas. Indoors, you can place the plant in your brightly lit living rooms to artfully showcase its braided stems. They will look especially stunning in golden metallic planters to add that modern Indian touch. If you have a more western setup at home, monochrome planters in white will lend a Scandi feel.
