All the plant gossip, through the grapevine. Pun intended
Fertilizer/ feed for the plant: Feed your giloy or gulvel plant with a well-balanced houseplant fertiliser every 20 days for a good growth.
Repotting : Gulvel plants don't need to be repotted frequently. Repot only when you can see roots coming out of the top soil and drainage hole. Use a slightly larger planter with fresh potting mix.
Propagation : Gulvel plants can be propagated via seeds. Sow the seeds in moist soil and keep it in indirect light till it sprouts. The Giloy can also be propagated by stem cuttings.
1. Why are my giloy plant leaves turning yellow?
The main cause for giloy leaves turning yellow i overwatering. The giloy plant does not like being overwatered. Water only when the top few inches of the soil are dry to touch.
2. What kind of soil is good for giloy?
Giloy plant grow in almost any kind of soil, but they prefer a rich and well-draining soil. Avoid using a loamy soil that does not drain well.
3. Why is my gulvel plant not growing?
There can be many reasons for the gulvel plant to not grow. Some of the common reasons can be insufficient light, improper watering, lack of nutrients, or the plant is root bound.
Light Requirements : The plant loves bright indirect light and does well with partial to indirect light.
Locations : Place your gulvel plant next to south facing windows or keep it in East or North facing balconies and terraces.
Styling/decor tip : Plant your gulvel plant in floor planters with moss pole to allow the plant to twine over it. The giloy can also be planted in hanging or pedestal planters and allow the leaves to trail over the planter to give your home a tropical look. Use a clay/terracotta planter to give your home a farm chic vibe.
