Take a container of your choice with will drainage holes at the bottom
Fill this container with proper potting layers and a growth medium of your choice
Sow 2 seeds at the centre of a pot
When growing on raised beds, sow two seeds per spot in a spacing of 3 x 3 ft.
Push the seeds into the growing medium with your fingers. Make sure you cover the seeds completely with this growing medium
Water the sown seed bed immediately by a light shower with a watering can
Caring
For growing Bitter Gourd use big circular pots or grow bag with 16” diameter and minimum depth of 8-10 inches
As a growing medium use 1 part Garden Soil + 1 part Coco Peat + 1 part Vermicompost Or 2 part Garden Soil + 1 part Organic Manure
Within the first 6-8 days your seeds will start germinating
Bitter Gourds require full sunlight. Keep your bitter gourd container in a spot that receives proper sunlight. If you are growing Ash Gourd on a raised bed, ensure that you make the raised bed in a bright sunny spot.
All vegetable seeds need sun for at least 5-6 hours in a day
Water the plant every day in summers
Use a watering can. The plant needs to be watered in the form of a shower
Check for early signs of any insect/fungal/ any other infections. If you notice any such symptoms, spray your plant with appropriate medicines
About 2 months after sowing seeds, your Bitter Gourd will be ready for harvest

My bitter gourd seeds are not germinating The Bitter Gourd like most of the vegetable seeds requires proper sunlight for at least 5 - 6 hours in a day. Inadequate sunlight will hamper the germination process What is the white powdery residue on my Bitter Gourd plant’s leaves? White powdery residue on upper leaf surfaces is a symptom of Powdery Mildew. Keep a watch on the early symptoms of powdery mildew. Use appropriate chemicals to get rid of the powdery mildew.
